After experimenting with my own fabrics, creating unusual shapes and
forms from materials, I came across Nadine Goepfort and Charlotte Void. Both
who work with distorting the materials to create interesting shapes and
textures. I'm interested in the contrast between these two designers. Goepfort
who enhances the material by creating folds, this creates a sense of multiple
and layering. A feature which has been a
focus in my own trend. Void creates block shapes, which she then works into by
cutting away, and revealing other aspects of the garment. I want to explore
this, combining this within digital illustration, to form layers in a 2D flat
form.
