Metal Workshop

To experiment with the low density metal I got inducted into the metal workshop. I worked with folding, bending and cutting the metal to create interesting shapes. I worked with processes such as heat and pressure to transform the metal from its original state.  The deformation of the material links back to the idea of Morphogenesis. ‘A biological process that causes an organism to change its shape.’

This development has been useful; it has enabled me to visualize how this material could be used as suggestion for fashion.  Creating shapes that could be translated into a fashion context. The metal forms do not relate my context as of yet, I need to work on using these with other imagery such as illustrations to translate my context and concept completely. This week I also received some colour changing glass from Prinz Optics, this is used in modern architecture for aesthetic reasons.  I want to explore the material further by combining it with my other sampling and materials and photographing them. I am going to concentrate on making my project and imagery more 2D using photography to visualise this.
